Wells Park Neighborhood to get a new state of the art park. This project will be combine the Community Center property to the vacant lot north of the center and will include a vacation of Rosemont Ave between 5th and 6th Streets.

Some of the trees around the Community Center and Wells Park are being removed as part of the $5 million park expansion and renovation.A total of 9 trees were removed on Rosemont Avenue due to the park expansion and tree health. The majority of the trees have been deemed in poor condition with a significant amount of canopy die-back. A total of 26 existing trees are being protected throughout the construction and expansion. With the park renovation plan, there will be a significant increase in new trees. The City anticipates planting approximately 180 trees in the new park which will result in a NET increase of approximately 155 trees.
